The Wedding of Farhad and Helen

We had the privilege of recently shooting Farhad and Helen's wedding at One Fort Mason in San Francisco. I don't think I have ever heard more lovely speeches about a couple. The love shown by Helen and Farhad's friends and family was sweeter than a perfect strawberry. I remember while I was filming, thinking "I am so blessed to capture weddings as a career."
Wait until you see the fantastic wedding cake they had. It was made by Farhad's sister, Najmia. Not only was it beautiful, as you will see in the film, but it was scrumptious! We first experienced one of Najmia's cakes at our wedding in Pacific Palisades. Yep! She made mine and Chris' wedding cake as well. We thought is was so sweet of her to travel up to San Francisco, from her Southern California Specialty cake shop Wild Flour Cakes and make their cake!!!
Mandy Scott, from Mandy Scott Flowers was not only their coordinator, but their wedding designer. The decor was out of a movie, from the flowers to the style, Mandy tied the whole day together with a bow. She was such a pleasure to work with... and of course her amazing design style made capturing their day, like walking into a candy shop, for any cinematographer or photographer.
I can't wait to see the photos from Marcel and Meher Photographers as it is the first time we worked with them and it seemed like they were creating some amazing photographs...

The whole day was such a treat....

We sure hope you enjoy the highlight's of their very special day.

Jules and Solange trailer

I am not quite sure if I have seen two individuals in love like Jules and Solange. Learning about their journey to the alter, makes one appreciate the Romeo and Juliet love that is deeper than the ocean. Their story could be made into a movie. When we shot their wedding we did not have a blog, so there was never a time that they could send it out to their loved ones overseas. We wanted to give them that opportunity to share that day with those who were not able to make it, as well as to those who were part of that wonderful day.

Much love

Nesha and Ingvald trailer

We shot this wedding for two friends of ours Nesha and Ingvald. At the last minute I found out that Nesha did not have a cinematographer for her wedding, so we decided to gift them with a highlight video of their day. Now, I have to say that the reason we wanted to do that is because Nesha is one of the most loving women we know. She is a woman who is constantly of service to others and always willing to help anyone out with nothing in return. I have personally watched her lend a hand, an ear, and her heart to many individuals. Life has been busy for both of us with many wonderful changes. This trailer is long overdue and Nesha has been such a doll waiting patiently... We feel blessed to know them.

Please enjoy

The highlight is still to come :-)

The Wedding Of Tiffany and Scott

With all of the chaos that happens in preparation for a wedding, we never had a chance to meet Tiffany and Scott before hand. However, as soon as we walked in, there was a feeling of utter Joy within their home. The whole day was filled with romance and wonder. The ceremony took place at Tiffany's parents home and the reception was at an amazing vineyard. Around every corner there was beauty. We also had the privilege of working with and amazing photographer, Justin, of Justin Lee Photography he has such an eye and really a wonderful photographer to work with. It was such a pleasure capturing their wedding. You will see why in their trailer.

Heather and Russell wedding

Heather and Russell had such a fun wedding. It was very sweet and simple, yet unique and beautiful. They had a special twist that was kept secret from us until the end of the night. It was a Monday wedding and at first we were told that it was important to get married on May 4th because it was the year anniversary of their proposal. We later found out that they were big Star Wars fans and the truth was they wanted to say...

"May the Fourth be with You"

below is their special highlights of the day..

However, their favorite song is "White and Nerdy" by Weird Al, so we decided to make a special feature to that particular song.

We hope you have enjoyed both of their videos.

New site and more!!!!

We have been hard at work this summer and haven't been able to keep up with our blog. So here are a few updates:

We just launched a new site! We love it! However, we are still working on adding our videos and such, but it is up and running and has some great new features. I am sure you will like it.

You can click the image to go directly there.

In addition, we now have the Canon 5D Markii! I have to say that it is our prize possession. The color is phenomenal and the clarity is brilliant! We have begun adding our new photographs and video to the new site. The photos of the kids are amazing!!! If you want to check them out look in our gallery under "Kids" But there is more to come as soon as we can upload.

This past weekend we worked on the 48 Hour Film Project here in Los Angeles. It was such a great time. We worked with a director named Joe Jung. Both Chris and I wrote the script Friday night. Then on Saturday we both worked as Director of Photography. Sunday Chris did a killer intro using footage I shot (Saturday) on of one of our main actors, Mike Muscat, jumping out of a plane! Talk about scary. I had to wear a parachute "Just in case" The Pilot Kent Lane made that all possible. After the 4 jumped, Kent took me safely back to Santa Monica airport, which was not where he was meant to go. Thanks Kent. You Rock!

This is most of us at the screening of our film Tuesday night.

Anyway, we were able to work with some really talented kids - Dylan, Tyler, Brenden, James, Tre' and Patrick. Each one contributed something special and had their own uniqueness. They were such troopers in the hot valley sun.

This is Dylan - he was our lead and played Andy -This is a movie still from the film.

This is Daniel - he played Baba AKA Dad - This is a movie still from the film.

This is Patrick - his character was Cherub Boy

This is Tyler - he played Tommy

Mike up in the plane before he jumped

Mike - as Alex Filbert AKA Grandpa

This is James - he played Frankie - This is a movie still from the film and features Brenden and Tyler.

This is Tre'- he played Sammy

This is Brendon - he played Billy "The Bully"

Patrick just playing his guitar and harmonica

We will be posting the actual film that we shot within the next few days. The photos in this blog are of our wonderful cast...

Jennifer and Blumes welcoming baby Tracy

First of all I would love to say congratulations to Jennifer and Blumes. They are about to welcome "baby Tracy" into the world. I had the honor of sharing in their baby shower and this is a little something I put together for them. Jennifer is one of the most special women I know. She is a light and a role model for many women. One of the women I admire most in this world. Soon Jen and Blumes will get to meet their new baby boy and I have to say that he is definitely one lucky boy. I send my love and I hope you enjoy their video.

Billy and Martina Barnhart Wedding Trailer

This has to have been one of the most special weddings we have ever done.

We have known Billy for nearly 10 years and Martina since they began dating. The day we met her we knew she was the one for Billy.

We were so proud and honored to have the privilege of shooting their most special day. Their love is so deep and their commitment to one another is undeniable. Martina is a generous soul and one of the most kind women I have ever met. Billy is one of the most loyal and courteous gentlemen I know. Together they are magic.

Chris and I love them very much and want to share their trailer with you.

The Wedding Trailer of Gian and Rand

This was one of the most unique wedding experiences we have had. Gian was a bundle of energy and Rand was the perfect gentleman. They both looked like they jumped off a cake and are truly beautiful individuals both inside and out. What a fun day for everyone. The day was clear and beautiful. The lanterns hung with grace, the drapes gently swayed in the wind and everything was calm. Suddenly the wind picked up and it began to sprinkle. Gian and Rand decided to just kick back and enjoy whatever came their way. Between the salad and entree everyone ran inside while the staff and vendors quickly picked up, what had taken a day to decorate, and recreated their reception inside. Some would think this would be horrible, not Gian and Rand they just had fun with it and it shows in their wedding film. Here is their unique trailer of that very special day.

Congratulations Gian and Rand....

Lionel and Debi Wedding

We have filmed many brides and grooms, yet the love and laughter that Lionel and Debi have is unmistakable. Not only on their wedding day, but everyday you can see their one of a kind love. When it came to their wedding day, everything felt smooth and natural. Almost as if there was no schedule. They were a couple who were just excited and in the moment. It was our pleasure and such a joy to spend time with them and to capture all of the beautiful moments. The love of their friends and family made such an amazing backdrop to such a memorable day. The clip below is a full highlight edit and runs just under 13 minutes. We hope you enjoy it.

This was a "Special Feature" on Lionel and Debi's wedding video

Dustin has got to be one of the coolest kids we have met. From the minute we met him we knew that we were going to have a great time filming Lionel and Debi's Wedding. Before any dancing had begun, the Austin Powers theme song began playing and Dustin began to woo the crowd. It was so much fun we decided to create a special feature on their wedding video. What a surprise it was for them and a treat to see their smiles as they relived his special dance....

We are greatful to have been part of their special day...

Link to ABC 7's Story on our wedding

As promised here is the link to the story done by ABC 7.

We hope you enjoy it!

Our Wedding Vendors

We really want to thank everyone who made our day so special and wonderful.

Tonight our story will be on ABC 7. It will air during the 5 o'clock news with Ric Romero.

It will also be posted on ABC 7's website one hour after it airs. We will post that link as soon as we get it.

Below is a list of the names and links to the vendors who made our day possible.
We want to make sure that everyone is acknowledged.
There are no words to describe our gratitude and love for you all.

http://flowersonmars.com/ Nancy and Mars are a dynamic duo. They were the beginning of bringing everything together. They were not only wonderful in bringing our visual dream to life, they were the biggest help in aiding our search for vendors to trade with. Mars was our DJ, but it doesn't end there. He was also responsible for the overall look and feel of our event. Together with his team, he draped all of the fabric lanterns and so much more. Nancy was our head Coordinator, she created all of the flower arrangements including my bouquet and my brides maids bouquets. She was such a great designer and a wonderful joy to work with. We have worked professionally with them on other projects and they never cease to amaze me. I look forward to many future events with them.

http://www.whitefeathersevents.com Beth was a blessing. She is one of the hardest workers and most gracious women I have ever met. She worked side by side with with Nancy Flores - She worked so hard pulling everything together with mars and nancy. -She made an amazing Candy Bar for all of the guests - she brought her beautiful crystal trees and just blew us away with her love and commitment. She is always smiling and making sure everything is just right.

http://www.delreyparty.com Del Rey Party rentals - Now Julio is a pure gentleman and a surprise a minute. We couldn't have created the beauty without him!!! Many of the elements that were used by Flowers on Mars were brought by Julio. Julio and his crew worked endlessly to bring everything together - In the past I have worked with many rental places and never have I been so impressed. From the Chivari chairs to heating lamps they pulled it all together.
No matter what the event, I know for sure that Julio would have what you need.

http://www.aldersgateretreat.org/ Aldersgate - is the location where we were married - It was a magical place and the staff is amazing. Chris is someone who makes everyone feel welcomed and loved. He has such a love for Aldersgate and Buerge chaple. This is the location where Chris proposed to me. It was our dream to get married here and Chris was a crucial element in bringing it all together. In addition to getting married here, they also rent the retreat center for people to stay in. We chose this option, allowing our whole family to really spend time together without the headache of different hotels. It made everything feel homey and close.

http://michaelcevents.com Michael C is not only an amazing caterer he is an wonderful person who goes above and beyond with his work. His food is to die for and I will always recommend him to anyone needing spectacular food for their event. He was more than we could have wished for - from his amazing mini burgers - to his Penne Pasta - he was surely a star!!!

http://mayamyers.com - Maya was our photographer. We chose her not only for her style, but for what she represents. In addition to Wedding Photography, she documents women who are underpriviledged yet still pushing forward in spite of circumstances. It has been a pleasure getting to know her and to see the sparkle in her eyes when she works. She has become a friend and a role model of sorts.

http://www.dvartistry.com Daniel Boswell from Dv artistry was a show stopper with his one day edits. He is one of the only people who offer this service. Yes he was our amazing videographer! You may think... why would anyone want to promote someone who does the same thing? The answer is simple. Daniel is a wonderful cinematographer that I would recommend to anyone. His team was amazing and extremely professional. He was recommended to us by another company that we admire and we feel really blessed to have met him. He went above and beyond and we are greatful to him. Capturing your special day is one of the most important aspects of any wedding and he was there to capture it with his excellent skills.

http://www.bridalelegancesalon.com/ My dress, veil and Tiara were all from Bridal Elegance Salon in Torrance. Stacy and her staff assisted me and made my dream dress come to life. Stacy is one of the sweetest women and I might say if you meet her, you may think she has an angelic quality about her.
Designs by Margaret Herrera created the custom necklaces and earrings for my bridesmaids. She also created my wonderful bracelet that I was wearing. she doesn't have a website up but her contact number is: 310-701-6800

http://nicelyicedbychantelle.com/ Chantelle Labowe created the amazing cupcake tower and custom cookies for all of the guests. It was sooooo beautiful that everyone just raved about them. From the taste to the look the word to describe Chantelle is IMPRESSIVE!!!! She is truly an artist and a kind soul...

http://wildflourcakes.com/ - Najmia from Wild Flour Cakes made our wedding cake. It was last minute and she recreated the cake on the cover from REAL SIMPLE magazine, with no time to prep. The cake tasted wonderful and without ever having a tasting all I can say is wow!

http://www.theaddressboutique.com
Maureen from the address boutique was responsible for my "something old" - Jimmy Choo's !!!! Chris had dreamt of me wearing Jimmy Choo's and she made it happen. She has the cutest boutique on Wilshire in Santa Monica California. If you want a designer anything, you will find it there! Please take time to check out some of the companies- They are all wonderful and we are greatful to have met and worked with all of them...

DV Artistry Blog featuring our wedding video

We had the gift of having Daniel Boswell from DV Artistry come and film our wedding.

He did such an amazing job. Being both cinematographers ourselves we really wanted to have someone amazing to capture our day. We have to say Daniel and his crew were amazing, fun, hardworking, talented and a pleasure to have had at our wedding. We could not have been more blessed and honored than to have DV Artistry. Here is a link to their blog and they have also posted the same day edit that they created for our special day.
